What Boat?... What to contribute to in the world.

WHAT BOAT:

Warren buffet famous quote, "It's not about how hard your row, its what boat your in." The boat he is referring to is the industry or company that you put your life energy.

Expending Life Energy= Work.

I found this out the hard way. I joined/ run a eyeglass manufacturing brokering territory of about $6M Gross Revenue/ Year. I get a portion of that. That is how big my boat is.... The boat puts glasses on people faces. It pays me $145,000 year.... after looking at the last 8 years of doing this, I thought a little harder about why I am doing.

I want to create something big. What are the big industries?... a way to think about this would be what are the biggest need for humans?

Human Needs:

Physical Human needs: Food, Water, Air, Shelter, Clothing, Health, Transportation.

Internal/ Mental Human Needs:

  • Certainty: assurance you can avoid pain and gain pleasure

  • Uncertainty/Variety: the need for the unknown, change, new stimuli

  • Significance: feeling unique, important, special or needed

  • Connection/Love: a strong feeling of closeness or union with someone or something

  • Growth: an expansion of capacity, capability or understanding

  • Contribution: a sense of service and focus on helping, giving to and supporting others

FINDING HUMAN NEEDS BOAT

How to I find or build a "Boat"/ Company that solves the most human needs... and the needs of humans for the future.

WHAT DO I NEED AS A HUMAN!

ALSO WHAT DO I WANT AS A PRODUCT?

BUSINESS IDEA: LAUNDRY CLEANING COOKING DRIVING ROBOT!

WANT: Everyone wants clean laundry in their dressers at all times, food to be cooked for them all the time, self driving cars, and an immaculately clean/ organized home. Everyone needs to put clean clothes on their back, fuel themselves with food, transport themselves, and have orderly cleaning living spaces.

I believe that in the future we will all have a robot that comes into our house and does all the laundry, cleans the house, and makes dinner. We will all pay a monthly subscription.

Cost to Achieve this today with human services:

How to use current technology to meet these needs.

  1. Pay a maid to come by 3 days a week ($350/ Week)($1400 Month). The come Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Maid does laundry. You Go out to eat, meal prep service, grocery services, or door dash. Increase Cost= Month/ $2000 per month. $2400.00/ Year

  • The cost per person for a robot to do this could be $499.00/ Month= $6000/ year

SELF DRIVING CARS OF THE FUTURE

Automobile of the future will be self driving mini houses. They will have all the luxuries of home but in a car. The big sales pitch and technology push in the industry will be to make the driving experience not feel like you are moving. "You wont even know you are driving."

Cost to Achieve this today with human services: Uber - Guestimate $2000/Month=$24K/ Year

Once people free up all their time they will be able focus on more important problems to solve.

CONQUERING THE NEEDS OF THE FUTURE

When people don't have to think about how to feed, drive, cloth, and keep clean houses. They will be able to conquer huge future problems. War/ Understanding/ Resource Equality, Renewable Energy, Suitable Food, Population Growth, Death/Aging/Health, Space Exploration/ Asteroid/ Space Danger Prevention, Waste Management/ Earth Health.

AFTER CONCURING THE PHYSICAL NEEDS... INERNAL MENTAL NEEDS

People will have more time on their hands. Many people will try to distract themselves with social media and other forms for escaping reality. We must fight back against this. We must figure out a way to concur and help people meet all their internal needs.

Now back to my original question. What boat should we hop in and work on? What is a worthy puzzle to solve?... Please comment below.

  • Robotics?

  • Housing/ Building?

  • Self driving Cars?

  • Home Appliances?

  • Space Exploration?

  • Clothing?
